Eastern Seiwa.
Dawnmoon Station.
The night breeze was a little chilly.
Felyn made a brief stop here while transferring to his third bus.
Because the popsicles sold here were 2 crowns cheaper than anywhere else.
Tonight, Adelina was like a battle between the left and right sides of her brain—neither side winning.
He was exhausted.
Pretty girls were really a pain.
Felyn sat on the bench at the station, waiting for the next bus.
The platform was always lively, but not far away, the VIP area was so quiet it felt like a different world.
A few attendants hurried by in silence, as if preparing for some important reception.
Looked like another noble had arrived at the station.
Lately, due to Lady Viloti Silafiel’s banquet, there had been noticeably more nobles passing through than usual.
“What a grand display,” Felyn muttered to himself.
As he looked back at the night sky, several attendants in the VIP area were struggling to carry the massive crest of the Silafiel family into the reception room.
“Daddy!”
A twin-tailed little girl burst out from the crowd, dropped the display rack hanging from her neck to the side, and clung tightly to Felyn’s leg.
“Lina, I’m not your daddy.”
Felyn gently patted the girl’s head and gave a helpless smile.
His clients were spread across all parts of Seiwa, so he often passed through this station. Over time, he’d gotten familiar with Lina, who sold things here.
“What about that green-eyed, really pretty mama?”
“She hasn’t come back yet.”
Lina was referring to the client Felyn had sent off at the station last week.
Daiyi Aurelian.
[An absolute beauty]
[Meet all of her demands, and never disclose your conversations with her]
[Definitely someone important]
That’s how Felyn recorded his client notes for Daiyi.
The first time Felyn took on the job, he thought this mysterious young lady might be into BDSM.
BDSM wasn’t off the table—as long as the money was good.
After all, this world didn’t have steel scrubbers yet. Felyn had specifically confirmed that.
But after interacting with Daiyi, he realized that wasn’t the case at all.
Unlike Viloti’s cold gaze, Daiyi was more like a goddess standing above all, observing every person in the world with pure rationality.
She even knew everything about Felyn’s clients—Viloti, Adelina, even that super popular idol and the luxury tycoon.
In front of her, Felyn had no privacy. It felt like he was completely seen through.
And Daiyi seemed to take great delight in watching Felyn weave through his relationships with the girls, sitting on her throne, indulging in her dark amusement.
“What a pity. I really wanted to see that pretty mama again. When is she coming back?”
“Next week.”
Next week, Daiyi will be returning to Seiwa. The brief moment of peace was about to end.
“You look so tired, Daddy. Want a popsicle? It’s on me.”
Lina let go of Felyn’s leg and struggled to open her little display rack. There was a cheap refrigeration magic seal pasted on it.
“Thanks, Lina.”
Felyn took the opportunity to slip ten crowns into her rack when she wasn’t looking.
“Next time you come to pick up that pretty mama, remember to come find me, okay? I wanna see her again.”
“Yeah, of course. Lina’s popsicles are the best in all of Dawnmoon Station.”
Lina skipped away happily, her patched old dress swaying slightly with her movements.
A train whistle cut through the night—the train was arriving.
Felyn quickly finished the popsicle and stood up from the bench. It was time to go.
As he turned around, he saw a familiar figure.
A knee-length off-white dress outlined a graceful silhouette, with soft blue floral patterns along the hem like cornflowers blooming in the morning dew.
Her long pink hair was loosely tied with a silver ribbon, a few strands falling gently around her ears. A scarf of the same tone was draped around her neck, adding a touch of languid elegance.
Cute.
Viloti Silafiel.
Felyn turned around and saw the young lady staring straight at him.
God knows how long she’d been standing there!
She must have thought, again, that he was stalking her at the station.
They were standing very close—so close that Felyn could smell the faint fragrance from her hair. It was the kind of scent like dewdrops falling onto petals—one that would linger in a boy’s heart forever.
Viloti didn’t speak. She was waiting for Felyn to explain.
Felyn knew she was waiting for him to take the initiative to talk, because it had always been like this in the past. Every time Viloti found him, he’d come up with all kinds of excuses, then sneak in some heartfelt words.
In this way, the two of them had a sort of unspoken understanding.
“Good evening.”
Felyn greeted her, receiving only a nod in return.
“I’m heading home. See you.”
He waved and turned to leave.
Viloti tugged at her scarf, covering the corners of her mouth.
“You didn’t come tonight.”
“What?”
He stopped, as if he’d heard a foreign language.
“You didn’t bring me cheese milk.”
After learning that the cheese milk Viloti liked wasn’t available anywhere in Seiwa, Felyn had researched and crafted it himself.
It was a tedious process, but Viloti liked it.
She had rejected all other gifts from him, but she accepted the cheese milk.
So, almost every afternoon, Felyn would bring her a bottle of cheese milk.
Not only was it part of his simp mission, but also because this young lady actually paid—two hundred crowns a bottle!
And it only cost about five crowns to make.
“I’ll pay you.”
Viloti took out a pink unicorn-printed wallet from her coat pocket and pulled out a thousand crowns.
“About that… I won’t be making it anymore.”
“Huh?”
Viloti tilted her head slightly, still holding out the money.
“It’s a lot of work to make. And it might cause trouble for you, Miss Viloti.”
Hearing this, Viloti slowly clenched the money in her hand and let her arm fall naturally.
She lowered her head, staring at the tips of Felyn’s shoes.
“I’ll be going then. It’s getting late—I don’t want to miss the last train.”
By the time she looked up, Felyn was already gone.
The faces around her blurred like watercolor paintings splashed by rain, turning into mottled patches under the station lights.
Viloti quietly put the money back in her wallet and looked in the direction Felyn had gone, sighing.
She’d come to the station to pick up her uncle and his family from abroad.
But instead, she ran into Felyn. She had assumed, again, that he’d somehow found out about her schedule and orchestrated another “chance” meeting.
Her pink hair danced in the night breeze, a little messy.
The wind after the rain was chilly—she hugged her arms instinctively.
She saw the quiet gentleness Felyn showed the little girl.
So it turned out, she had never truly known the real Felyn.
Or maybe—Felyn had never given her the chance to know the real him.
Felyn held onto the handrail inside the bus, watching the dazzling lights flow past the window.
Somehow, finishing this job with Viloti tonight felt like knocking over a row of dominoes. His whole world seemed to be changing.
“Better get to bed early tonight.”
As he watched his own reflection glide past the buildings in the window glass, Felyn gave himself a tired smile.
Tomorrow was the joint hunting event.
He also wanted to get into a royal capital academy—to escape this life.
No more looking at clients’ moods. No more putting on those fake acts.
“I hope tomorrow goes well.”
