St. Andros Academy.
Today, Felyn felt like he was walking around the academy without pants on.
Everyone’s gaze would linger on him for a few seconds—whether it was the cafeteria aunties passing by or the underclassmen who’d come all the way to the senior wing just to catch a glimpse of the male lead in the recent drama.
Their eyes carried nearly every human emotion imaginable—curiosity, jealousy, envy, hatred…
Felyn had become a hot topic.
At this rate, Silafiel was bound to hear about the rumors between his daughter and Felyn.
Even though Felyn hadn’t done anything, nor had he ever taken the initiative to get involved with Viloti, he was innocent.
But he didn’t think Silafiel would be reasonable when it came to matters involving his daughter.
Let it all burn.
The school bell rang. Felyn packed up his bag.
He still had to go see Adelina later.
As soon as he stepped out of the classroom, he saw Sophia leaning against the railing, as if waiting for someone.
“Teacher Sophia, what are you doing here?”
“Felyn, heading home?”
Sophia patted Felyn on the shoulder. Just thinking of what she’d set in motion made her grin uncontrollably.
Felyn looked at Sophia’s not-so-kind and borderline perverted smile and felt extremely confused.
She’s not about to sexually harass me, right?
Just what the hell did she wants to do?
“Uh huh, is there something you need, Teacher Sophia?”
“No no, just checking in on you.”
Sophia waved her hand casually and turned to leave with a flourish.
When Viloti comes looking for you, you better remember to thank your teacher.
This is all part of the job!
Felyn was completely baffled.
After transferring through five different buses, he once again arrived in front of Adelina’s little villa.
His contract with Adelina was about to expire.
Felyn didn’t plan on renewing it, since he needed to make time to prepare for the Royal Capital’s entrance exams.
Surely Adelina would understand.
“Lady Adelina, are you home?”
The door opened quickly, as if she’d been waiting by it for a while.
Adelina stood at the door. Her rose-tea-colored long hair was neatly pinned up, looking even gentler than usual.
The corners of her eyes shimmered faintly, and her lips were touched with a subtle gloss.
She was at home, yet she was dressed so exquisitely.
“Come in.”
Felyn noticed that Adelina seemed a bit different today.
Even the way she looked at him seemed a little evasive.
It felt like she was in an especially good mood.
After the banquet last time, this was the first time Felyn had seen Adelina again.
The three-way standoff on the balcony that night—he had no idea what Adelina really thought about it.
Before walking in, Felyn had been worried that Adelina might have figured something out.
But now, it seemed she hadn’t developed any strange ideas.
“I got you your favorite honey cloud cakes. Because Lady Adelina looks especially beautiful today, I wanted to thank you on behalf of the whole world.”
Adelina’s hand froze mid-air, her face instantly turning red all the way to her ears.
This idiot… how could he say something like that so naturally!
“Your lip gloss today really suits you.” Felyn stared seriously at Adelina’s lips, which looked like sugar glaze sprinkled over honey clouds. “It makes you even cuter than usual.”
This was Felyn’s self-taught, comprehensive compliment strategy.
Start with a general compliment, then follow it with praise for a specific feature.
That way, the client wouldn’t feel like he was giving some half-hearted, generic “you look nice.”
And he genuinely meant it today.
Adelina really was very cute today.
Adelina felt like her heart was racing out of control. Her fingers unconsciously touched her lips.
She had lightly done her makeup before Felyn arrived.
It was just a bit of practice—nothing more. Definitely not for Felyn.
Once Adelina sat on the sofa, Felyn knelt on one knee on the floor.
“Lady Adelina, I truly understand my mistake.”
The familiar ritual of Felyn’s repentance began.
If he were a believer, then surely the gods would be very fond of him.
Just for this one matter, he’d somehow managed to keep apologizing in different ways for days now.
Half an hour later.
The sunset shifted from the window to the wall, then vanished from the wall entirely.
The light inside the room slowly dimmed.
Felyn rubbed his slightly numb knee and looked up at Adelina.
Tonight, Adelina wore a soft lilac dress, the hem falling just to her knees, with delicate lace trimming the edges.
Her legs were pressed tightly together, hands resting on her thighs. The white stockings rubbed faintly against each other, making a sound thick with hormones.
Her dewy eyes stared at the floor, emotions threatening to overflow.
She was breathing in small, shallow puffs, her warm breath almost taking the shape of hearts.
“Lady Adelina?”
Seeing her act so unnaturally, Felyn couldn’t help but interrupt.
“Ah? It’s over already?”
Adelina snapped out of it, suddenly realizing that the service had ended.
She fanned herself with her hand, feeling a bit flushed all over.
She had no idea her entire neck had been dyed red.
Seeing Felyn rubbing his knees, Adelina finally noticed that half an hour had passed.
Tonight, Adelina had felt Felyn’s love in full force.
After what happened on the balcony, it was like Felyn had finally stopped pretending—tonight’s confession had been incredibly direct.
It was almost too much to take.
He really loves me.
Adelina cleared her throat, took a sip of water, and tried to suppress her emotions.
Felyn kept his head down, mentally reviewing today’s apology performance.
He’d messed up five characters, had four awkward sentences.
Clearly, too much had happened lately, and he’d gotten a bit sloppy.
With Daiyi staying at his place, it had been hard to practice properly.
Tonight, he’d need to do some serious training. He couldn’t allow such rookie mistakes to happen again.
Adelina looked at Felyn’s drooping lashes, like he was deep in thought about something painful.
She understood now—Felyn felt conflicted.
Because of the huge difference in status between them, he only dared to use this half hour under their contract to secretly express his love for her.
Now that time was up, he had to endure again until the next confession session.
He really loves me!
Looking at Felyn like this, Adelina felt a wild impulse rising in her heart.
She really wanted to pat his head.
“Felyn, c-come here.”
“Hm? Lady Adelina, is something wrong?”
A trace of panic flashed through Felyn’s eyes.
Could it be that Adelina had noticed his mistakes after all?
Was she dissatisfied with the repentance today and wanted to punish him?
Felyn obediently closed his eyes and crouched down beside her.
He could smell the faint scent of her body wash.
After all, it was his fault—so go ahead!
Adelina took a deep breath, her trembling fingers gently landing on Felyn’s hair, like petting a gentle little animal.
His hair was softer than she’d imagined.
Her heart pounded wildly, but her fingers continued combing lightly through it.
Seeing Felyn’s body twitch slightly the moment her hand touched his head, then visibly relax…
Looking at such a shy, obedient Felyn, Adelina’s head was echoing with the same phrase over and over, desperately trying to suppress her emotions.
He really loves me!
