Chapter 12

Felyn sat on the sofa, downing the wine in his glass in one gulp.

Adelina had sacrificed her cousin to gain some free time.

Now, he had no way to delay her further.

Though the first battle plan had failed, it was fine—he still had a second plan.

Lady Adelina was the type who became surprisingly easy to read the moment the name “Viloti” was mentioned, a simple-minded noble lady.

As long as Felyn brought up Viloti in front of her, he could get her to spill her plans for the evening.

Then, he just needed to neutralize them one by one.

Adelina ascended to the third floor with elegant steps, her gaze locking onto that familiar figure at once.

Felyn was particularly dazzling today.

His deep blue formal attire accentuated his tall, upright frame, with golden patterns faintly shimmering under the light.

Adelina pursed her lips, suppressing the ripples stirring in her heart.

He was wearing the same deep blue as her.

Was he secretly trying to match me in a couple’s outfit?

He really loves me.

“Lady Adelina!”

Felyn greeted her, standing in the balcony corner with a face full of joy.

“It feels like forever since I last saw you, Lady Adelina. I’m really happy today.”

The corners of Adelina’s mouth curved slightly upward as she blinked, sizing Felyn up from head to toe.

“You weren’t hurt last time, were you?”

“No, thanks to your blessings, Lady Adelina. I only briefly lost consciousness; my body wasn’t harmed at all.”

Hearing this, Adelina’s gaze, which had been fixed on Felyn, flickered with hesitation.

Her guards had only saved her.

Though Adelina herself hadn’t even reacted before being rescued by her guards, the fact was the fact.

“Viloti didn’t make things difficult for you, did she?”

“No, she didn’t.” Felyn’s face showed a hint of discomfort, as if he were hiding something.

It seemed the two had spoken.

Adelina sat on the sofa, picking up the floral fruit tea brought by a maid and taking a large sip.

On the surface, the Silafiel family’s explanation to Adelina was that Viloti, due to the [Concealment Seal] released by Adelina’s guards, only saw a magical beast there and didn’t notice anyone. Then, she “accidentally” used the wrong seal, releasing a seventh-tier seal.

Would anyone actually believe such a ridiculous excuse?

Viloti’s guards weren’t incompetent.

Besides, was a seventh-tier seal something to be used so casually?

Something worth ten million crowns, used just because of a first-tier magical beast?

Though it seemed utterly unreasonable, Adelina’s intuition told her Viloti had targeted Felyn.

The reason was obvious.

Seeing that Felyn liked her now, Viloti was regretful and angry.

Things were starting to get unexpectedly thrilling.

Not only had she stolen Viloti’s loyal admirer, but she’d also caused Viloti’s emotions to waver.

If she could just confirm with Viloti later, she’d know exactly what Viloti was thinking.

“Lady Adelina, would you like me to massage your calves? You must be tired from standing so long tonight,” Felyn said, crouching in front of her with a sincere expression.

“Massage my calves? But…”

“I understand, Lady Adelina.”

Felyn slowly stood up, biting his lip slightly, revealing a trace of inferiority.

“That’s not what I meant. Go ahead and massage them.”

Hehe.

He gently lifted her calf, and through the white lace stockings, he could see the slight redness at her ankle from wearing high heels for too long.

Adelina lowered her head, her long eyelashes trembling slightly, masking her inner fluster.

Felyn’s technique was professional, but the proximity still made Adelina’s heart race.

Thankfully, they were in a corner where no one else would see.

“Lady Adelina, you look truly stunning tonight. I bet Miss Viloti would regret seeing you.”

“Huh? Why?”

Adelina’s heart skipped a beat. Could Felyn have figured out her plan?

“Tonight, you will probably steal all the spotlight with your beauty.”

“You can’t say things like that.”

While Adelina spoke, she felt a bit smug inside.

“I wonder what plans Lady Adelina has for me tonight?”

Felyn said this casually, without looking up.

“Of course, to have you kiss me in front of Viloti…”

Adelina suddenly realized she’d almost let slip, quickly covering her mouth with her hand.

Her face instantly flushed to her ears, even her neck tinged with pink.

That was close—she’d almost been tricked into spilling.

“I’ll tell you later.”

No matter what, Adelina couldn’t bring herself to voice her fantasies.

But if she didn’t say it out loud, would she have to write a note for Felyn to read?

That would be even more embarrassing.

Adelina cleared her throat lightly, her slender fingers nervously twisting the hem of her skirt.

“Listen, a friend gave me an idea a few days ago, and I want to try it.”

Felyn raised an eyebrow, his face showing no trace of displeasure.

Adelina glanced around and noticed a piece of cake that had just been delivered to the table.

“Cake.”

She looked up, saying only two words.

“Does Lady Adelina want to eat this cake?”

Felyn picked up the cake from the table, standing by Adelina’s side, quietly awaiting her instructions.

“Feed me.”

“Hm?”

Felyn froze, wondering if he’d misheard.

In private, Adelina had never asked Felyn to feed her, let alone at a banquet.

“Feed me… the cake.”

Adelina felt her face burning, but she still forced herself to stay composed.

She was just rehearsing with Felyn first—how else would he know how to act in front of Viloti later?

But this was such a good for Felyn!

Felyn cut a small piece of cake with a silver fork.

“Lady Adelina, open your mouth.”

His voice was impossibly gentle.

Adelina slightly parted her lips, her eyelashes still trembling softly.

Felyn carefully brought the cake to her lips, taking care not to smudge her delicate makeup.

The cream melted in her mouth, but Adelina felt like she couldn’t taste anything.

All her attention was focused on Felyn, who was so close to her.

Felyn took out a napkin and gently wiped the cream from the corner of Adelina’s mouth.

“Lady Adelina, do you want me to feed you a cake like this in front of Miss Viloti later?”

Adelina’s heartbeat skipped, and she sat rigidly, not expecting Felyn to see through her so easily.

“As long as it’s Lady Adelina’s command, I’ll carry it out. But, you know, I’m starting to like Miss Viloti a bit now.”

“Hm?” Adelina looked at Felyn, utterly confused.

“Because of Miss Viloti, I got the chance to feed Lady Adelina.”

Seeing Adelina’s expression, Felyn knew her brain was about to overheat.

Adelina was clearly a pure-hearted noble lady—naive yet playful.

Now it was time to keep pressing for information.

Though there’d been a slight hiccup, things were generally going smoothly.

?

Viloti’s expression right now was practically a “?”.

She had entrusted the butler with placing surveillance seals all over the castle.

From the moment she stepped into the castle, Viloti had seen Felyn.

Now, watching the intimate scene between the two on the screen, her expression remained utterly cold.

“Miss Viloti, what are you looking for?”

While watching the screen, Viloti reached into her bag, searching for something.

“Where’s my Seventh Tier Seal?”
