Chapter 14

Chapter 14: Building Seven

Xiao Mumu was grabbed by the hair by Su Qinghan and pressed onto the bed; the sound of a slap rang out, and her left cheek immediately swelled up. The fiery red palm print indicated how much force was used.

She snatched the pistol from Xiao Mumu’s hand and punched her in the stomach.

Xiao Mumu, after crying out, quickly begged for mercy: “I... I really know I was wrong... please don’t hit me, it hurts so much, woo......”

Su Qinghan ignored Xiao Mumu’s pleas for mercy; the Mind Creation System ability activated, and several transparent chains instantly appeared in her hand.

She glanced at Xiao Mumu, who was still crying and begging for mercy, folded her hands behind her back, and bound them with the chains, followed by her feet......

With the task accomplished, Su Qinghan looked at Xiao Mumu, who was bound and unable to move, and with a cold smile, extended her fair, slender fingers, lightly stroking her cheek.

Instantly, a trickle of fresh blood flowed out; Xiao Mumu began to struggle violently, but her body was bound, and she couldn't exert any strength even if she had it.

“Let me go... I’ll do anything......” Xiao Mumu constantly begged for mercy, which made Su Qinghan a little annoyed.

“So noisy.”

She stuffed a wad of tissues into Xiao Mumu’s mouth, pressing her tongue down so she couldn’t spit it out, and then wrapped her mouth round and round with black tape.

Xiao Mumu was completely unable to speak, only able to make whimpering sounds.

“Aiya ya, I clearly gave you a chance, why didn’t you cherish it.”

“Pets that don’t behave need to be properly tiaojiao’d. Don’t worry, I won’t kill you, that would be too easy on you; after all, toys like you are quite hard to find.”

Su Qinghan’s snake-like gaze swept over Xiao Mumu’s body, seemingly searching for a suitable place to bite.

Perhaps tired from crying, or perhaps fainted from fear, Xiao Mumu lay on the bed without moving; if not for her breathing, one would really think she was dead.

The usual brilliance in Xiao Mumu’s eyes was gone; she stared blankly at the ceiling.

“Why me?”

“Why was it me who transmigrated? If I had died directly back then, it would have been better, I wouldn’t have suffered all this pain.”

Xiao Mumu was now completely desperate; she didn’t know what kind of treatment she would face in the future.

“Ah!”

Xiao Mumu cried out in pain; her right cheek was also slapped, and then she was picked up by Su Qinghan and carried towards the storage room.

She pushed open the door, locked Xiao Mumu, who was aching all over, inside, and then clapped her hands and left.

Xiao Mumu struggled to lean against the wall, looked at the empty, pitch-black surroundings, and a sense of fear welled up in her heart.

In the storage room, only the sound of the heavy rain outside could be heard; the collar around her neck made it difficult for her to breathe, and the dual torment of mental and physical suffering made her eyelids heavier and heavier.

The next second, Xiao Mumu fainted.

Su Qinghan sat on the sofa in the living room, still eating a bag of potato chips, leisurely listening to the official broadcast on the radio.

In order to appease the public, the authorities conducted live television broadcasts and radio broadcasts every night, giving those refugees a glimmer of hope.

Eating the last potato chip, she clapped her hands, glanced at the time on the wall clock, got up and returned to the bedroom, took out the magazine with bullets from the desk drawer, and reloaded the pistol.

Then she got dressed, glanced out the window, and walked outside.

“The rain is starting to get lighter, we can leave here soon.”

Arriving at the stairwell, just as she reached the 29th floor, she heard a burst of discussion.

Su Qinghan followed the sound and saw a crowd of people standing in front of Room 2902. She felt a little puzzled: “Could it be that someone was killed again?”

She was now unsure about some future events; according to her memories from her previous life, the man named Zhang Wei would form factions and gather everyone’s food together.

Then he would distribute a certain amount of food to everyone each day, claiming it was to ensure everyone had food and for longer-term development, but in reality, he was monopolizing the largest share.

Actually, everyone knew this clearly, but those who resisted or disobeyed were dealt with by his underlings.

Afterwards, everyone could only swallow their anger and dared not stand out; after all, the nail that sticks out gets hammered down.

This state continued until the heavy rain stopped and survivors from other places came to rescue them by boat.

Su Qinghan slowly walked towards the crowd, wanting to hear what they were saying.

“Now, we don’t have much food left. According to my observation, there aren’t many people in Building Seven next door.”

Zhang Wei’s voice came from inside; Su Qinghan looked up and saw him holding up the binoculars in his hand, showing them to everyone.

He probably observed the building opposite using these binoculars.

“According to my observations these past few days, the people in Building Seven were probably all infected by those viruses.” He paused, looked at the surrounding people, and said in a deep voice.

“Therefore, Building Seven has a lot of food waiting for us. If anyone is short on food, they can come with me to the building opposite to look for food.”

After he finished speaking, someone asked: “How do we get there? Swim over? I can’t swim.”

The corner of Zhang Wei’s mouth curled up slightly, and he quickly said: “No need to swim over.”

Saying this, he turned around, opened the cabinet beside him, and showed everyone what was inside.

Su Qinghan looked into the cabinet and found that it was actually an inflatable raft; no wonder he was so confident.

“We just need to take the raft. When we find food in Building Seven, you just need to give me a little.”

He smiled: “After all, with such heavy rain, it’s risky for me to help transport everyone over.”

“Now, those who want to go, come to my side.”

Su Qinghan smiled upon hearing this, squeezed through the crowd, and walked towards the room.

She wasn’t going because she didn’t have much food; in fact, it was because the apocalypse had just begun, and there weren't many mutated creatures. The mutated creatures in this building had been mostly killed.

If she wanted to continue obtaining Spirit Crystals, she had to go to other places; waiting here slowly was too slow.

Standing in front of Zhang Wei, Su Qinghan crossed her arms in front of her chest, her gaze like a torch.

The expression on the latter’s face was clearly a bit surprised.

Not sisters, I saw you take a whole bunch of food just a few days ago, and today you have none?

Zhang Wei glanced at the corner of something she exposed, and was a little stunned.

“This is... a gun!”

Zhang Wei felt a wave of nervousness in his heart, but there was no obvious change on his face.

“Damn! This can’t be real, right?”

A storm raged in his mind; he knew this young girl had intentionally shown him the gun, its purpose was to intimidate him, and he also knew this young girl was not ordinary.

“Forget it, I’ll just avoid this woman later.”

Thinking, four more people walked to his side, three men and one woman, among them was that short, fat man.

Seeing that it was about enough, Zhang Wei reached out and took out the raft, then took out an air pump and a storage battery from inside, connected them, and in a short while, the raft was fully inflated.
