Chapter 10

Qin Xue said that after class in the afternoon, Su Yun should go to her house to do housework.

But what if there’s no class?

Su Yun figured she didn’t need to go that early. She thought she might as well wander around the school grounds to relax a bit.

Still wearing her hat and face mask, she arrived at the same art building where she’d run into Qin Xue before.

Just like last time, it was quiet here. Even though people were passing by outside, there was no one around inside.

So Su Yun took off her mask.

Even though it was winter, wearing it all the time still felt suffocating.

Then she lifted her hat. Su Yun shook her head gently, letting her long white hair fall down her back—this was the real her.

She tidied her hair briefly, then opened her umbrella and exited the art building through a different door.

She hadn’t noticed it earlier when she arrived, but now that she was on the sports field, she saw a large group of people running laps in blue vests. There were also many others sitting on the steps, wearing different colored vests.

There was someone standing at the finish line, likely the supervising PE teacher.

So Tuesday afternoons were for class fitness tests?

So many people... Clearly, walking around the track wasn’t going to happen.

But since she was already here, Su Yun didn’t feel like leaving just yet. She found a higher step and sat down.

Propping her head up with both hands, she quietly watched the people running on the track.

Even though there were lots of people nearby, it wasn’t very noisy.

1,000 meters. Most were resting and recovering.

Su Yun’s class fitness test wasn’t until the week after next—still a ways away.

But if she were to run a kilometer with her current body... how fast could she go?

Thinking about the speed at which she’d cleaned that several-hundred-square-meter hall last night, Su Yun didn’t doubt that if someone had been watching, she’d have looked like a blur.

The runners changed from blue vests to yellow, then to red—group after group—but Su Yun stayed seated, watching silently.

Not being recognized, not being bothered—what a nice feeling.

She started to get a bit bored. Now the steps below her were filled with a whole new group.

She slowly made her way down the side staircase, intending to exit the track from the back.

“Hm? They’re doing the fitness test inside too?”

Su Yun had just tried to head toward a quieter spot when she saw indoor fitness tests going on—bench presses, lung capacity tests, all of it—and the line was packed.

It had been empty when she first got here.

No way through there, so she had to go back around the track and walk along the side to reach the entrance.

It was fine to pass by the runners on the track, but the problem was...

The path she’d have to walk was between the steps and the track—meaning all the people sitting on the steps would see her.

Judging by the scale, it looked like an entire academy had come out—at least 300 people.

They were all resting after their 1,000-meter runs, so not many were on the track. Only a few PE teachers were supervising on the side.

Su Yun held up her umbrella and braced herself as she walked past the steps.

“What’s the point of an umbrella on such a sunny day?” a middle-aged PE teacher muttered, clearly displeased as he saw the girl walking past with her umbrella.

But the moment she lifted her umbrella slightly, revealing her head of white hair and snow-white skin...

The middle-aged teacher paused, a little stunned, and said nothing more.

Many eyes were suddenly drawn to her, and murmurs of discussion rose.

“...” Su Yun was speechless. She could only quicken her pace.

If she didn’t use the umbrella, just a bit of sunlight could kill her—there was no helping it.

With her umbrella lowered again, Su Yun finally reached the entrance of the track—also the exit.

“Phew...” She let out a long sigh of relief.

There were finally fewer people here.

“You run one lap, I’ll run one lap.”

“Then you go first.”

“!?” Su Yun suddenly heard a familiar voice. She looked up to see her roommate, Zhang Deyi, walking by with another person.

With the area wide open, Su Yun could only tilt her umbrella toward them, trying to hide her entire upper body.

Luckily, Zhang Deyi didn’t notice anything and just walked right past her.

It was only then that Su Yun realized—the school wasn’t safe.

She couldn’t just wander around. Better to go straight to Qin Xue’s house.

With that thought, she immediately pulled out her phone to check the next bus time and headed for the school gate.

......

Zhang Deyi saw that there were people doing fitness tests on the field, so he stood by to watch for a bit.

He suddenly felt that the black umbrella he’d passed earlier looked really familiar—he’d seen it back in the dorm at noon.

Turning to look toward the field entrance, he spotted a white-haired girl with a black umbrella in the distance.

White hair?! Goddess?!

Zhang Deyi froze in place, mouth slightly open.

He never thought that just coming out for a jog, he’d stumble across such an explosive scene. Too bad he hadn’t noticed earlier—otherwise maybe...

Forget it, better not disturb her.

Seeing that the white-haired girl had come alone, he became even more convinced that his goddess was nothing like Chen Tingting.

“They’re done running. Hm? Zhang Deyi, what are you staring at back there?”

“Oh, I’ll go run a lap first. You wait here.”

......

Following the navigation all the way there, Su Yun couldn’t exactly call the journey smooth—it took her a whole hour to arrive.

She even asked a few passersby along the way.

The towering buildings looked like they blocked out the sky, giving the area a frightening feeling. But Qin Xue didn’t live in one of those skyscrapers—she lived in a quiet area far from the noise.

It was peaceful here.

When she arrived, there was a guard booth at the entrance with someone inside.

“Um, can I go in?”

“Who?” The man inside immediately stood up alertly at the sound of her voice. But the moment he saw the girl outside the booth, he pulled out his phone to check something.

“Oh, oh, Miss Xiaoyun, right? Please, come in.”

He didn’t make things difficult—his tone was very respectful.

Su Yun entered the area smoothly.

Inside, the greenery was lush. She followed the path to the villa where Qin Xue lived.

Inserting the key and opening the door—

What greeted her eyes were shiny furniture and polished floors... and maids dressed in black and white uniforms.

“?”

Su Yun frowned at the sight before her.

Who were these people?

One, two, three, four.

Standing at the door, she counted. Just in the hall alone, there were four maids.

Her arrival drew their attention.

Their gazes converged on the small patch of white that had just entered.

Then, they set down what they were doing and approached Su Yun.

Click.

One of them shut the door.

“Hey, what are you doing? Don’t pull me—” No sooner had Su Yun stepped inside than two maids each took one of her arms and began dragging her forward.

They looked delicate, but how were they lifting her so easily?

Su Yun’s little feet kicked in the air as she was carried along.

Only once they reached the center of the hall did they finally put her down.

The four young maids then stood silently to the side, eyes fixed on her.

Not long after, a fifth maid entered, but Su Yun immediately sensed that this one had a different aura.

“The young miss told us to teach you maid etiquette. You must learn it properly,” the one who seemed to be the head maid said calmly, her voice unhurried and steady.

“Huh?”

“You have to train until the young miss is satisfied. First—clothes. Take them off.”

“What are you trying to do?” Before Su Yun could react, she felt someone trying to undress her from behind.

“I can change by myself!”

......

By the time she came out of the room, Su Yun was already dressed in the same black-and-white maid uniform as the others.

It was chilly down below... and the bow on her chest...

She felt like her pale face was about to turn red.

She hadn’t even gotten used to this body yet, and now she had to wear a maid outfit and be a maid?

“Hm.” The head maid looked at Su Yun and nodded, even seeming a little surprised.

Certainly beautiful, but beauty alone wasn’t enough.

She pulled out an apple.

“Balance this on your head and walk from here to the door. Don’t let it fall. If it falls, start over. Keep walking until you don’t drop it. Then we’ll move to the next step.”

From the moment she entered, she’d noticed Su Yun’s walking had no grace—she swayed like a guy.

Training was a must.

“Uh... okay.” Su Yun, looking miserable, placed the red apple on her head.

Thud.

Two steps, and it fell.

“Start over,” the head maid said coldly.

Thud.

Su Yun had just picked it up when it fell again.

“Start over.”

“...”

......

She’d come here to do housework, but instead, Su Yun spent two hours walking with an apple on her head. Any time she tried to rest, the five maids would drag her up again.

So strict.

So tiring...

She was a boy, after all—mentally, this was just too much to take.

“Hm, not bad.” The head maid nodded when Su Yun finally managed to walk to the door with a battered, bruised apple on her head.

“Phew, can I rest now?” Su Yun cupped the apple in her hands, tired and slouching as she walked back.

“No slouching. Again.”

“Ah?”

Su Yun jerked her head up. The red glow hidden in her dark pupils almost seemed ready to burst out.

Of course, she wouldn’t bite anyone... she just felt exhausted.

......

“Smile. You must smile when you bow.”

......

“The young miss is home. Say, ‘Welcome home, Master.’”

......

An entire afternoon passed just like that. Su Yun successfully graduated from the crash course in maid training.

She was now a 59-point maid (one point short of passing).

Knock knock.

Outside, the sky had already turned dark. There was a knock at the door.

Su Yun heard the sound and felt like she’d been set free.

She was just about to stroll lazily over when she sensed a cold glint from behind.

“...” Su Yun instantly straightened her back.

Click.

“Welcome home, Master.” She lifted the hem of her skirt slightly, flashing a sweet smile at the person at the door.

“Huh?”

“Wah! Sis!” Qin Yuanyuan had just opened the door when she saw the unusual scene and backed away, clinging to Qin Xue.

“Don’t be scared, this is something I arranged.”

Qin Xue gently patted her sister, then turned to the now-properly-trained Su Yun with a bright smile.

Very nice.
