Suicide Before Defeating the Final Boss - Chapter 113

Suicide Before Defeating the Final Boss – 113

EP.113 Conquering the Demon World Part 3

Having escaped outside, Jeong-hyeon decided to find someone who knew the Demon Realm’s ecosystem well enough to serve as a guide.

‘Shin Si-ah and Reltra probably won’t work, so…’

He needed someone to replace them, but he couldn’t think of anyone. While pondering who to bring, he saw Behemoth, who had referred to himself as the captain of the royal guard, walking alongside Reltra’s bodyguards up ahead.

‘Behemoth, huh…’

Though he didn’t know him well, anyone who could call himself the captain of the royal guard must be strong in the Demon Realm. He would likely know the terrain and ecosystem better than he did, making him a suitable candidate for a guide.

‘And besides, even if he dies, it wouldn’t be much of an issue.’

Considering Behemoth had crossed him before, he decided to choose Behemoth as his guide. He walked straight up to him and spoke.

“Hey, you, come with me for a bit.”

Behemoth looked at him with a startled expression, but he enjoyed the reaction and grabbed him by the nape of his neck before continuing.

“You’ll find out why if you come along… Regardless, since you’ve crossed me, you’ll pay the price. No complaints. Come along.”

“…Wait a minute, human. I have important duties!”

As soon as he grabbed him, Behemoth tried to break free, shouting something, but once he suppressed him with his divine power, his words were replaced with screams.

Though it was a bit noisy, he figured it was the best course of action. He transported Behemoth into a subspace pouch and stepped out.

Later

‘This should be enough.’

After stepping outside, he looked around and took Behemoth out of the subspace pouch. His screams were still echoing.

He released the divine power suppressing him and spoke briefly.

“What’s the name again… Pamur? Betica? Guide these guys to their territory.”

Behemoth, still lying on the ground, spat up before finally calming down and exhaling heavily, muttering.

“Now… What the hell are you talking about…”

By the looks of it, he hadn’t been punished enough yet.

Though he wanted to shove his sword into Behemoth’s body to make him understand the situation,

‘Unfortunately, there’s no one here who can use healing magic…’

He realized that if he did that, Behemoth might die before even showing him the way. So, he decided to go with a different form of torture.

‘No need to overthink it. Just hit him.’

Physical violence was always effective. Borrowing from the wisdom of his ancestors, he decided to go ahead and hit Behemoth without further hesitation.

Boom!

Now that his stats were higher, there was no need for divine power; the sound of a huge explosion echoed.

He was somewhat satisfied with the result and continued hitting Behemoth. Behemoth let out painful screams and started struggling.

“Stop! Stooop!”

From his cries, it seemed that he hadn’t learned his lesson yet.

Realizing that simply punching him wasn’t having much of an effect, he seriously considered using his sword, but

‘He’s an ally, and he’s supposed to be my guide from here on out.’

He gritted his teeth and decided to hold off on using his sword. For now, he continued to beat him.

When Behemoth’s body had swollen to the point where its shape was unrecognizable, he finally shouted not “stop,” but “I was wrong.”

He was satisfied with the physical treatment, though slow, that was clearly having an effect, and calmly spoke.

“Now, can you help me?”

After being beaten so badly, Behemoth showed a look of surprise, but once he saw the slow rise of his fist, he quickly responded that he would “help in any way.”

Seeing this, he thought that physical methods were the best way to communicate and decided to get to the point.

“Oh, really? Then guide me to the territory of Duke Pamur or Duke Betica.”

Behemoth’s lips twitched, likely wanting to ask why they were suddenly heading to another Duke’s territory, but realizing that asking questions could lead to more violence, he clenched his mouth shut and merely nodded.

‘This is convenient.’

This was the proper way for demons to behave.

From now on, he decided that whenever he met demons, starting with beating them would be the best approach. He nodded to himself, thinking, ‘The only good demon is a beaten demon.’

He also hoped that the demons, who had a much better treatment than elves, would understand his gratitude for this.

“Well, it’s nothing special. I just think it’s best to go deal with Duke Pamur or Duke Betica.”

At these words, Behemoth looked at him with a bewildered expression.

It seemed he found it strange that a mere human was boldly planning to deal with high-ranking demon lords of the Demon Realm by himself.

Amused by Behemoth’s reaction, he briefly asked,

“Why do you think it’s not possible?”

“No… It’s not that. It’s just… those two…”

Behemoth seemed like he had a lot to say but decided it was better to keep quiet.

Seeing this, he shrugged and asked Behemoth to guide him to Duke Pamur’s territory.

The Next Day

After traveling quickly for about a day, they finally arrived at Duke Pamur’s territory.

He pulled Behemoth out of the subspace pouch and confirmed with him that this was indeed Duke Pamur’s territory. Once Behemoth confirmed, he immediately put him back into the subspace pouch and donned a robe.

‘This should be just like when I went to meet Reltra.’

Unlike his previous visit to meet Reltra, this time he didn’t want to get involved in any troublesome matters.

If anyone started a fight, he decided he would endure it as much as possible and walked slowly toward the front gate.

‘Fortunately, it seems no one suspects anything.’

No one, including the guards, suspected that he was human as he passed through. He smiled slightly at the realization.

Suddenly, a demon wearing fine armor appeared from a distance and quickly approached him.

‘Did they figure it out?’

…That couldn’t be possible.

Since he had likely been discovered, he drew his sword, intending to kill anyone who stood in his way, but the demon spoke up first, saying something completely unexpected.

“Archbishop Genter, we’ve been waiting for you.”

Waiting for him?

Not just anyone, but someone as high-ranking as an archbishop?

Confusion and suspicion flooded his mind as things that shouldn’t be happening were unfolding. However, he sensed that he could turn this situation to his advantage and decided to make use of it.

He smiled brightly and responded,

“Thank you for the warm welcome.”

“It’s nothing. As a comrade who is walking the same path, it’s only natural to do this much. I would have liked to take my time and introduce you to the Demon Realm, but since Duke Pamur is waiting, I’ll take you to him first.”

“Understood.”

Listening to the demon’s words, he could feel his mind working quickly.

‘Comrade walking the same path, Archbishop Genter, Duke Pamur.’

Although the information was still lacking, and he couldn’t fully understand what was happening, one thing was clear: The fact that the demon wanted to introduce him to the Demon Realm and didn’t recognize Archbishop Genter’s face suggested this meeting was either the first one or at least very close to it.

‘In other words,’

It meant there was plenty of opportunity for him to intervene and seize control.

Feeling pleased, he couldn’t help but smile silently, deciding to gather more information first.

Thirty minutes later

As they continued toward Duke Pamur’s territory, he gathered a couple of useful pieces of information.

‘This event is being organized by the Pope, and Duke Pamur is very happy about the collaboration.’

He didn’t know the full details, but from these two facts, it seemed that the Pope himself had decided to join forces with Duke Pamur of the Demon Realm.

‘What a crazy woman.’

It was already causing an uproar just having high-ranking clergy collaborating with demons. But now, the highest-ranking member of the church, the Pope, was working directly with demons…

He realized once again how rotten the human world had become, chuckling to himself.

‘Well, this is still amusing.’

As he thought about how to use this situation to his advantage, the demon guiding him spoke in a calm voice.

“Lord Pamur doesn’t like discussions about the hero, so it’s better not to bring up anything related to him.”

“Is that so?”

The demon nodded with a quiet smile.

“Then I appreciate the heads-up.”

“May you have a good outcome,” the demon said as he walked away.

Watching him leave, he thought that this demon was second only to Reltra in terms of his favorability. He entered the office where dozens of guards were stationed, ready to face whatever was coming.

***

“Welcome.”

Inside, sitting arrogantly, was Duke Pamur.

With his crimson eyes fixed on him, the Duke was waiting. He smiled and spoke to the demon lord.

“Have you been well, Duke Pamur?”

“Spare me the pleasantries. Enough with the trivial talk. Just give me the item the Pope entrusted to you.”

He nodded in agreement, smiling back, and slowly began to rummage through his robe. After a moment, he pulled out the middle finger of his hand and shouted as loudly as possible.

“The Pope has decided to cancel the deal and bring divine retribution upon you filthy demons! Accept the divine punishment willingly, you scum!”
