Starting from the Planetary Governor - Chapter 107

Chapter 107: “You Should Die!”

Gu Hang was seeing the true form of the Owl Beast for the first time.

Although it was merely a phantom body formed by the White Storm, it still bore a resemblance to the ancient creatures depicted in art books, now long extinct.

Its body was exceptionally massive, resembling a giant bear; its head took on the form of a powerful eagle; and it had antlers on its head…

When it was still, it might have seemed somewhat clumsy and endearing, but now, roaring angrily towards the sky, with a storm gathering and raging in its hands, it evoked sheer terror.

And just as this phantom form of the Owl Beast unleashed its power, the winds and rain grew even more furious.

In just a short time, the ground was no longer merely covered in flowing water—it was nearly submerging one’s feet; the fierce wind lashed raindrops painfully against their faces, and debris from crumbling buildings was carried everywhere by the gusts.

Smaller fragments even flew great distances; tree branches were torn off, and thinner trees were snapped in half…

This was beyond what could simply be described as a violent storm; it transcended the level of severe weather and could only be called a natural disaster.

Gu Hang was fine where he was, as were the Star Warriors and Battle Nuns, but soldiers further away were not so lucky.

They weren’t lifted off by the wind, yet the flying debris from collapsed buildings had already injured several people.

Even though Trico, the enemy, and the furious Owl Beast were right before him, Gu Hang’s mind drifted unexpectedly towards Revival City.

After the disruption caused by the ambush along the transport route, the grain distribution, thanks to Osena’s efforts, should have resumed normal operation just a few hours ago.

With tens of thousands of people waiting for food, even spread across sixty distribution points, each location still had tens of thousands of people queuing for rations.

Such a large number of people waiting for food meant that the distribution process could never be quick.

Up until now, the grain distribution for that day could only have progressed halfway at best.

But now, the storm had arrived.

What was happening over there?

Gu Hang couldn’t help but feel worried about it.

Yet now, he was stretched too thin. No matter how concerned he was about that situation, there was nothing he could do.

Besides, the root of the problem was right here.

Gu Hang forced himself to focus on the present.

His control over the golden flash-emissary’s mind was close to fruition.

But before he could see results, Trico’s offensive arrived.

“My greatest mission is complete; now, let me teach you false emperor’s dogs a lesson!”

With that, he extended his hand, and a bolt of lightning shot from his fingertips, striking toward the Star Warriors.

The bolt struck one of the Battle Nuns.

Her body convulsed violently before collapsing to the ground, motionless.

Upon closer inspection, her chest armor had been pierced by the lightning.

Although he didn’t check up close, Gu Hang could clearly sense that the nun’s life signs had disappeared.

Gu Hang’s expression darkened considerably.

With a single strike, this high priest had killed a Battle Nun, an expert in anti-heresy.

The loss of her sister drove Gretel into a rage, and her attack frequency increased another level, yet she still couldn’t quickly break through the wind wall. She even suffered a minor injury from an ambush by the golden flash-emissary.

And the enemy’s assault wasn’t over.

As Trico seemed to be gathering a second lightning bolt, the phantom Owl Beast swung a massive claw toward a Star Warrior.

With a single blow, it sent the Star Warrior, armor and all—easily weighing two tons—flying through the air. The white fog-like hand lifted him three to five meters high before he was slammed back down.

Though it wasn’t fatal, the Phoenix warrior was certainly left in no small discomfort.

Protected by the wind wall, Trico could attack recklessly without interference. It was clear now that his psionic strength was enough to inflict real harm, even to the extent of killing a Battle Nun in power armor or even a Star Warrior.

Let alone Gu Hang.

That lightning strike had instantly killed a nun protected by divine grace and power armor; if it struck him, even with his spiritual shield, he would barely survive.

It would likely drain his spiritual energy completely, leaving his life to fate.

The only reason he hadn’t been targeted yet was that Trico likely didn’t see his spiritual strength as a significant threat, so he prioritized killing the nun or the Star Warriors to ease the pressure on him.

However, Gu Hang couldn’t depend on that forever, nor could he pin his survival on simply being overlooked.

Therefore, though his control over the golden flash-emissary’s mind wasn’t fully prepared, Gu Hang decided to activate it immediately.

He had been doing this in secrecy for some time, carefully, slowly infiltrating the emissary’s soul with psionic energy, aiming for a subtle takeover without alerting anyone.

His goal was to completely influence the situation without detection, ideally causing a reversal when he had full control.

But now, he could only take the risk and attempt it.

He shifted his control effect into ‘interference.’

Honestly, he wasn’t completely confident, but the results were unexpectedly good!

This being, turned entirely into energy, was nearly devoid of human rationality; he was using a method akin to burning himself, along with Trico’s empowerment, to achieve his current performance.

For a target as mindless as this, direct control was difficult. His irrational side was nearly impossible to tame; however, merely disrupting his already unstable reason to collapse entirely was much easier.

That was precisely what Gu Hang did, embedding a fiercer, more aggressive thought into his soul.

In an instant, the emissary lost control.

No longer maintaining his position within the wind wall for protection or executing a hit-and-run tactic, he burst out of the wind wall.

The crackling of electricity sounded like his roar as he charged at the Phoenix Battalion Leader.

Martins’ reaction wasn’t shock but delight!

“Finally decided to come out and meet your end!”

Though he didn’t know exactly what had happened, two hundred years of combat instincts drove him to raise his chainsword and bring it down upon the emissary’s head.

When the chainsword struck his arm and then moved onto his head, the contact created a massive spark.

Flying electric sparks erupted wildly.

In an instant, the chainsword destroyed the restraints holding the emissary’s energy form, causing all the power within him to explode and spiral out of control.

In the midst of this, Martins remained unwavering. He felt the immense force pressing against him and the intense electrical pain coursing through his power armor, but his will remained firm.

Instead, he pushed forward with even greater force, slicing through the exploding sphere of energy.

In fact, after disrupting the mind of the light-energy emissary and successfully luring him out of the wind wall, Gu Hang’s focus had already moved on.

Though the emissary was fierce, without the wind wall’s cover, he wouldn’t stand a chance against any of the three close-range combat experts here.

Gu Hang’s goal wasn’t merely to deal with an energy-formed emissary.

Reducing the number of threats within the wind wall who could interfere with their attack and break through was just the first step. If he had accomplished only that, it would’ve been a small gain but far from the reversal Gu Hang desired.

As soon as the Fierce Wind Emissary charged out, Gu Hang seized the opportunity.

Using nearly all of his psionic power, he filled the void left by the emissary’s departure with his telekinetic force!

This move was incredibly fast!

Gu Hang knew that if he’d been even slightly slower, the high-speed wind wall would have immediately closed up the hole.

His opportunity was only a fleeting moment.

Fortunately, he succeeded.

He felt the immense pressure from within the wind wall; the divine storm energy within resisted his psionic presence, treating it as a foreign intrusion and pushing him out with relentless force.

He had to exert all his strength just to keep the opening from closing.

“Seize the opportunity!”

Gu Hang’s voice rang in the ears of every warrior and nun.

And they didn’t disappoint.

Chaplain Rizo stepped forward, striking the edge of the hole Gu Hang created with his staff, his full power in the blow. The incomplete, compromised wind wall shuddered violently.

Gretel followed immediately after, dealing further damage to the wind wall with her Sacred Golden Halberd.

Their attacks were indeed effective. Gu Hang could feel the pressure on him rapidly decreasing.

At the same time, the wind wall became increasingly unstable.

If they kept up at this pace, breaking the wind wall would soon be a reality.

Inside the protective wind wall, Trico’s face darkened; the manic, arrogant smile had vanished.

He raised his hand and pointed at Gu Hang.

“You should die!”

The power of storm lightning was gathering and concentrating.

Gu Hang’s hair stood on end; he felt a threat of death looming.

In that instant, he considered whether he should abandon maintaining the hole in the wind wall and pour his telekinetic energy into moving his body instead.

If he dodged Trico’s attack, even if the worst happened, his spiritual protection might just save his life.

But if he did that, a significant portion of his efforts would be wasted.

Just then, he heard a roaring sound from above.

It was the sound of a large-caliber shell booming from a short distance away!

Gu Hang could almost hear Pobov’s furious roar:

“Fire! Fire! Blast them to pieces!”
