Prologue, The Unknown God
On December 25, 1964, in a certain village (Special Access Level 1 clearance required), a mysterious light emission was confirmed.
The local municipality conducted an investigation, but no abnormalities were found.
During this period, villagers testified to witnessing intermittent mysterious light emissions.
In January 1965, a special investigation team led by the Japan Bacteriological Research Committee was dispatched and conducted a seven-day investigation. No abnormalities found.
In March of the same year, a joint prayer ritual was held for three days by the village shrine and the Shinto Studies Association. Since then, no mysterious light emissions have been confirmed.
In 1967, Sotoba Tateru (32 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1970, Kawara Saiko (43 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1972, Matsuno Mizuki (11 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
A large-scale investigation was conducted by the police but concluded as an unsolved case.
In 1975, Mikawa Yuto (30 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1977, a new religious group called 'The Silent Voice' established a religious facility in the village. Local residents protested for a year.
In 1980, the Territorial Divine Offenses Special Investigation Division was established.
In 1981, Senda Bunroku (71 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1983, Katabira Kyoko (54 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1985, the new religious group 'The Silent Voice' was dismantled following exposure of illegal activities and the arrest of its leaders. The religious facility in the village was demolished.
In 1986, the Territorial Divine Offenses Special Investigation Division dispatched investigator Shiramine Michiyuki. No abnormalities were found as a result of the investigation.
In 1989, Fuse Wataru (47 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1991, Shiyama Kyuuzou (82 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1993, the Territorial Divine Offenses Special Investigation Division dispatched investigators Hasebe Samon and Akana Souichi. No abnormalities were found as a result of the investigation.
In 1996, Sentani Kaori (29 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1998, Shumiyama Dan (31 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 1998, the Territorial Divine Offenses Special Investigation Division dispatched investigator Asagaya Katsushirou. No abnormalities were found as a result of the investigation.
In 1999, Shirai Kikka (35 years old at the time) and Hitsugi Noriko (44 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 2000, Rokuhara Misaki (24 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 2001, the Territorial Divine Offenses Special Investigation Division dispatched investigator Rokuhara Mitsuji. No abnormalities were found as a result of the investigation.
In 2002, Usuzumi Mahito (21 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In the same year, the Territorial Divine Offenses Special Investigation Division dispatched investigators Izawa Isora, Miwasaki Manaji, and Katagishi Daigo. No abnormalities were found as a result of the investigation.
In 2003, Kouzu Noritsugu (35 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In 2004, Honzon Rin (22 years old at the time) disappeared near the village.
In the same year, the Territorial Divine Offenses Special Investigation Division dispatched investigators Katagishi Daigo and Miyaki Rei.
