Chapter 15

How can I get her to transfer to my school?

Sophia kept repeating this sentence in her mind as she watched the elegant and beautiful Adelina present the charity proposal she had written.

She had long heard that the eldest daughter of the Claude family wasn’t just capable, but also strikingly beautiful.

Now that she saw her in person, the rumors were clearly true.

“Miss Sophia, do you have any suggestions?”

Snapping out of her thoughts, Sophia flipped through the charity proposal in her hands.

Flawless.

That Linda from her own school’s student council didn’t even come close to Adelina.

She was still wandering around the hall looking for men.

It's true, comparing between always make you feel inferior.

“I don’t have much to suggest. It’s very well done. But if you could get the Royal Capital’s Chamber of Commerce involved, the impact would be even better.”

“I’ve already considered that. I’ve reached an agreement with the vice president of the Chamber. If you agree, we can send the invitation jointly under the names of Lanche Academy and St. Andros Academy.”

“But wouldn’t the main venue be too crowded…” Sophia raised a concern.

“If the Chamber of Commerce participates, I have a revised floor plan that accommodates the changes.” Adelina immediately presented a meticulously drawn diagram.

“Miss Adelina, are you single?”

Sophia paused for a long moment before blurting that out.

“Eh? Uh, I don’t have any plans to get married at the moment.”

A trace of panic appeared on Adelina’s face before she quickly composed herself.

Upon hearing Adelina’s answer, Sophia couldn’t help but think about introducing her to Felyn.

But she quickly dismissed the idea.

Even if it could pull Felyn out from under Viloti’s shadow, it might just land him right back into Adelina’s love trap.

Thinking about it like that, Felyn really does fall too easily.

A pure-hearted boy.

“With Miss Adelina’s plan, I feel at ease now.”

Sophia took two steps toward the silver table, picked up two glasses of wine, and prepared to toast to the success of the charity project.

But when she turned around, she noticed something odd about Adelina.

She was staring intently at the balcony Sophia had just stepped in front of, still wearing that gentle expression—but her aura suddenly felt a bit terrifying.

Following Adelina’s gaze, Sophia saw Viloti and Felyn cozily standing together on the balcony.

Adelina must think Felyn was pestering Viloti again, and was furious.

Totally understandable.

But Sophia had never heard of Adelina being that close to Viloti.

In any case, she couldn’t let anyone disturb them now.

Sophia stepped forward to block Adelina’s line of sight and handed her one of the wine glasses.

“To the smooth success of our plan. Cheers.”

“Cheers.”

A sweet smile curled at the corners of Adelina’s lips as she raised the glass and took a soft sip.

Sophia noticed a slight tremble in her arm.

“Miss Sophia, if there’s nothing else, I won’t take up more of your time.”

Adelina set her glass down and gave a small polite bow before walking toward the balcony.

Sophia wanted to follow and stop her, but a few bothersome nobles cut her off.

“Miss Sophia, how did the chat go? How about we…”

As Adelina walked toward the balcony, she kept the same gentle smile she had worn while speaking with Sophia.

But her face was stiff now.

What are they doing.

Adelina’s inner voice exploded on the spot, screaming.

Why does this look exactly like a couple scene from a novel—on a private balcony, gazing at the night view of the city, talking about life.

Did I get dumped by Felyn again?

Did Felyn choose to give me up again for Viloti?

Adelina began to tremble. Childhood memories she had buried came rushing back.

And the moment her hand touched the balcony glass, she suddenly snapped out of it.

Wait. What am I doing?

Am I seriously going to storm in there and scream at Felyn like a nagging woman?

Call him a heartless jerk, a scumbag, shameless?

Wouldn’t that make it seem like I’m his girlfriend?

Adelina steadied herself and stood still in front of the glass window, watching the two on the balcony.

Felyn was leaning against the railing, gazing at the lights of Seiwa.

Viloti was standing quietly beside him, gripping her skirt tightly with both hands, head lowered, not knowing what to say.

Reason returned to the throne in Adelina’s mind.

She stood in place as her brilliant mind began to work.

It was known that Felyn once liked Viloti.

It was also known that a few days ago, Felyn didn’t like Viloti, and liked me.

And judging from Viloti’s current behavior, she clearly came to find Felyn herself.

So the conclusion must be—Viloti regrets it. She likes Felyn.

Which means Viloti likes Felyn. And Felyn likes me.

Adelina took a minute to complete this complex chain of reasoning.

The childhood trauma that had resurfaced just now seemed to have been splashed with colorful paint.

Victory. Utter victory.

Isn’t this the ultimate scenario I always fantasized about?

More than ten years of resentment had in this moment transformed into pure joy, surging through every part of Adelina’s body with unstoppable force.

I am the winner.

I actually stole Felyn away. And Viloti even regrets it.

Overwhelmed by the flood of emotion, Adelina suddenly pulled open the balcony door and slowly stepped inside.

She didn’t even know why she went in.

Her body instinctively wanted to find Felyn and flaunt her joy, completely ignoring Viloti.

Adelina had won big. Felyn was doomed.

Three minutes ago, when Felyn had yawned, he had already spotted the familiar figure standing by the balcony.

It was her, right? Adelina?

She saw me with Viloti. Is she coming in here to kill me?

The glass door was slowly pushed open. The three of them gathered together in a strange way.

“Miss Viloti, so you were here.”

Standing at the doorway, Adelina’s victory-high mind finally remembered that Viloti was still here.

Felyn stood in the shadow of the corner, eyes darting nervously between the two most dazzling girls at the party.

It’s over.

It’s all over.

Why?

I worked so hard on my strategy last night.

Why is everything turning out so differently from what I planned?

“Miss Viloti, congratulations.”

“Thank you.”

Viloti put on a neutral expression, nodded politely to Adelina, then turned her gaze back to Felyn.

“Miss Viloti and I are on pretty good terms at school. We’re just catching up here.”

Felyn no longer cared whether the excuse made sense or not. He was ready to give up.

“Is that so?”

Adelina took stiff steps toward Felyn.

This was her chance.

Adelina remembered her checklist.

She had to have Felyn feed her cake, tie her shoes, give her a shoulder massage—all in front of Viloti…

So thrilling.

Her heart pounded harder and harder. She stared at Felyn, and just thinking about what she was going to do next made her whole body tremble with anticipation.

Felyn watched Adelina approach with a stiff smile on her face, and felt a chill in his heart.

She’s really going to stab me!

At that moment, the silent Viloti suddenly spoke.

“Adelina. Do you like Felyn?”
