Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Spirit Crystal

In the morning, Xiao Mumu slowly woke up from the floor; he smoothed out the somewhat wrinkled blanket beneath him and folded the quilt.

He slept on the floor because Su Qinghan felt the bed was too small, and it was a bit crowded for two people to sleep, so she gave Xiao Mumu a blanket and bedding, letting him sleep on the floor.

To be honest, the floor was cold and hard, but fortunately, there was a thick blanket, which prevented Xiao Mumu from being unable to sleep; comfort was certainly impossible.

He touched his shrunken stomach; these past few days, Su Qinghan had only given him a little food each day, which was not enough to fill him up at all.

He sighed, hugged his body, and sat on the blanket, quietly waiting for Su Qinghan to walk in with food.

Su Qinghan had gone out very early; he didn't know what she was doing.

Xiao Mumu waited until his stomach started to rumble, but Su Qinghan still hadn't come.

He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall; half an hour had already passed.

Logically, Su Qinghan would usually come to feed him at this time, but today she was not on time.

Xiao Mumu slowly got up, walked towards the window, reached out and pulled open the curtains, glanced at the heavy rain outside; he didn't know if it was an illusion, but he felt that the heavy rain seemed to have lessened a bit.

Meanwhile, Su Qinghan, who was wandering in the corridor of the 21st floor, was a little puzzled; she always felt as if she had forgotten something.

“Forget it, I’ll think about it after I go back; the most important thing to do now is to collect more Spirit Crystals.”

Muttering to herself, she casually pushed open an unlocked door and swaggered in.

She wasn't worried there would be people inside, because all the people on these few floors had moved upstairs; in the early stages of the torrential rain outbreak, a large number of people had been infected with an unknown virus.

Those people died one after another within a few hours; the uninfected survivors, after finding out through mobile phones, computers, news, and other channels, hid at home and dared not go out.

So the houses of those dead people naturally became their new residences.

As soon as Su Qinghan pushed the door open, she smelled a foul stench, followed immediately by a roar coming from the bedroom inside the room.

Su Qinghan frowned, muttering in a low voice: “It’s appeared at this time already?”

The small knife in her hand was drawn smoothly; her right hand held the knife in a forehand grip, her left hand hung down slightly, resting on the pistol holster strapped to her thigh, ready to draw and shoot at any moment.

She slowly walked towards the bedroom, and when she stood at the bedroom doorway, the strange roaring sound became more intense, as if it had encountered something.

Su Qinghan reached out and gently pulled the doorknob, opening a crack, and looked inside, only to see a strange creature.

The creature's skin all over its body was gray and rotten; one could still see that its white shirt was covered in dark, sticky liquid.

Through the rotten skin, one could also see the blood vessels inside, which were also black; looking closer, the whites of its eyes had disappeared, its entire eyes were black.

Its open mouth was full of blackened teeth, and its fingernails were also black.

This appearance was like a zombie from a novel or movie, with no intelligence, only the instinctual craving for flesh and blood driving their actions.

However, this zombie's stomach was very large, and pus was still flowing out from its navel, looking disgusting.

Su Qinghan looked at this zombie; the zombie standing in the distance was also staring at Su Qinghan through the crack in the door with its eyes that had no whites.

Then, as if it had discovered delicious food, it quickly limped towards the door; its speed was so fast that it arrived in front of her in the blink of an eye.

Su Qinghan lifted her foot and kicked fiercely at the door; the immense force directly hit the zombie's body, knocking it down onto the floor.

Su Qinghan gave her no chance to get up, quickly came before her, and the small, cold-gleaming knife in her hand plunged directly into the zombie's glabella.

The force was so great that it pierced her hard skull and minced the brain enveloped within; during this time, the zombie thrashed her body frantically, opening her mouth wide to reveal sharp fangs, wanting to tear a piece of flesh from Su Qinghan.

But her brain was injured, and she simply didn't have enough strength to break free; her hands were pinned by Su Qinghan’s feet, completely unable to move.

After four seconds, the zombie completely stopped moving, and a pool of black, viscous liquid spewed from her mouth.

Su Qinghan endured the stench, continuously stirring the small knife inside the zombie's head; before long, a pitch-black crystal appeared in her hand.

She held the crystal tightly in her hand, and then, a magical scene occurred.

The hand Su Qinghan used to hold the crystal glowed faintly, lasting for about five seconds before disappearing.

She opened her palm, looked at the black crystal that had already vanished, felt the power inside her body, and walked out of the bedroom with satisfaction.

But just as Su Qinghan turned and took a few steps, the zombie’s stomach began to move; through the rotten skin, it seemed as if something was about to burst out.

With only a squelching sound, the zombie’s stomach actually burst open, and a small, rotten zombie crawled out from inside.

The small zombie was about the size of a two or three-year-old child.

As soon as the small zombie emerged, it lunged towards Su Qinghan without a second thought; the craving for flesh and blood had made it forget the difference in size and strength.

With only a "biu" sound, a bullet shot out from the pistol barrel, silenced, and hit the child zombie right in the glabella, exiting through the back of its head, leaving a small crater on the brown floor.

The child zombie immediately fell to the ground, twitched a few times, and then stopped moving.

Su Qinghan snorted coldly: “Unexpectedly, she was a pregnant woman; who could refuse a buy-one-get-one-free Spirit Crystal.”

Saying this, she took out the black Spirit Crystal from the child zombie's head, put it away, and then extended her hand and the small knife out the window to rinse them in the heavy rain.

She hummed a song, treading with light steps, pushed open the door to her own home, and as soon as she walked inside, she remembered the thing she had forgotten.

Su Qinghan unhurriedly walked into the storage room, took out a carton of milk from inside, and walked towards the bedroom.

“Aiya ya, I actually forgot to feed the little kitty, my memory is really bad~” After saying that, she pushed open the bedroom door and at a glance saw the white figure curled up on the floor.

Seemingly asleep.

Su Qinghan quietly came to Xiao Mumu’s side, slowly leaned down, lowered her head, and brought her mouth close to his head.

Xiao Mumu, who was sleeping, suddenly woke up with a start; he felt a tingling numbness in his body, and with a turn of his eyes, he saw Su Qinghan nibbling his earlobe.

“Wu~” Xiao Mumu, his eyes somewhat reddened, let out a cute, delicate sound from his mouth, seeming as if he was about to lose control.

His ears were really too sensitive; just a slight nibble was almost unbearable.

Seeing this, Su Qinghan released Xiao Mumu’s small ear from her mouth, smiled at him, and handed over the food.

Xiao Mumu received the food with tears in his eyes, slurping the cartoned milk, his body twitching from time to time.

“Why do you always bully me......”
