Chapter 27

The head maid’s name was Qin Xuanyuan. Her surname wasn’t Qin because she was born into the Qin family, but because she’d been lucky enough to be adopted by them from an orphanage as a child.

Qin Xuanyuan was using all her strength to push away the girl pressing down on top of her.

She really hadn’t expected it—this girl looked so small, yet she was absurdly strong.

Was this what vampires were like?

“Su Xiaoyun!” Because the other four maids had gone to look, Sister Xue arrived at the main hall quickly. She widened her eyes, stunned by what she saw unfolding before her.

Su Yun was sitting on Qin Xuanyuan’s lap, her upper body leaning forward, pinning the girl down who was dressed in black stockings and a maid’s outfit.

However, due to certain "obstacles" in front of Qin Xuanyuan, they weren’t completely pressed together.

The moment Qin Xue shouted, Su Yun’s gaze quickly turned toward her.

It was obvious that her eyes were redder than usual—she was biting her lower lip, as if trying very hard to hold something back.

“Run!” Qin Xue saw Su Yun getting up and immediately shouted at Qin Xuanyuan.

“Miss…”

“Move it, now!”

Because of the command, Qin Xuanyuan quickly slipped out from under Su Yun.

Su Yun was left sitting silently on the floor by herself. The neat white dress she’d been wearing when she arrived was now looking rather disheveled.

Seeing that Qin Xuanyuan had left, Qin Xue’s expression relaxed a bit. Aside from concern, there was also a feeling she herself couldn’t quite explain.

She didn’t like seeing Xiaoyun pressed up against someone else? …Heh.

“Ugh…” Su Yun felt dizzy, her head drooping as she sat there helplessly.

If her willpower hadn’t held just now, she would’ve bitten down already.

Right now, all Su Yun wanted was for Qin Xue to just place a cup of blood on the floor nearby—she’d crawl over and drink it quietly.

Then none of this would’ve happened.

“Sister Xiaoyun, look over here, come on.” Qin Xue guided Su Yun’s gaze.

Thinking the blood had finally arrived, Su Yun looked up.

Only to see Qin Xue pulling down the strap of her nightgown, revealing a patch of snow-white, silky-smooth shoulder.

“???”

Su Yun’s eyes immediately widened.

Sis, what are you doing? Don’t play with fire…

Su Yun tried to lower her head and avoid looking, but all she could think about was that soft, white shoulder of Qin Xue’s.

Qin Xue’s blood… it probably tasted just as good as her sister’s.

Sweet… delicious…

“I want it…”

In the end, Su Yun couldn’t hold back. Her hands shot down, propping up her limp body.

“Awooo!”

She bared her fangs and pounced toward Qin Xue.

“Huh?!”

Qin Xue was startled by Su Yun’s speed.

But when the girl was right in front of her and she grabbed her soft shoulders, that feeling of fear was replaced by happiness.

“Mm… mmm…”

Su Yun’s little hands clung to Qin Xue’s shoulders, her cheeks puffed out in frustration.

Her heated gaze kept drifting toward the patch of exposed white skin.

“You better back off…”

“Alright, I’ll go get you something to eat.”

Qin Xue, however, made no move to step away. In fact, she stopped resisting completely. The hands that had been pushing against Su Yun’s shoulders moved down, scooped her up by her soft butt, and hugged her close.

Su Yun didn’t bite Qin Xue in the end. The last sliver of rationality she had left told her to simply rest her head on Qin Xue’s shoulder.

She didn’t need to go fetch any blood—the maids had already prepared it and were holding it ready. Qin Xue just hadn’t let them approach.

Once she sat down on the sofa with the feather-light white-haired girl in her arms, the blood was finally brought over and placed on the glass table.

Su Yun’s butt rested on Qin Xue’s soft thighs. The crimson in her eyes slowly faded away. She had held on, but the cost was a wave of dizziness.

She was going to pass out again.

“Ah~”

“Awoo…” Just as Su Yun was about to lose consciousness, she felt something in her lips and liquid flowed into her mouth.

“Let’s see if you try to be stubborn again next time.” Qin Xue spoke with slight annoyance.

She’d tried giving it to her this morning, but this girl refused.

Was she really so unwilling to ask for help?

The girl in her arms didn’t respond—just laid her face sideways against Qin Xue’s shoulder.

Her beautiful eyes were tightly shut, long lashes resting silently.

Her complexion had turned alarmingly pale, like all life had drained from her.

But the fact that she drank the blood Qin Xue gave her showed the situation wasn’t that bad.

“So disobedient.” Qin Xue lightly pinched Su Yun’s cheek.

After that, Qin Xue enjoyed herself, gently stroking the girl’s head while feeding her. The girl offered no resistance.

Weak Sister Xiaoyun was so obedient.

……

After feeding one whole bowl, Qin Xue finally felt the girl in her arms stir slightly.

She wanted to keep feeding her, but the girl puffed her cheeks and used the spoon to block her.

“Sister Xue, I can drink it myself…” Su Yun’s arms slowly unwrapped from around Qin Xue’s neck, her expression full of protest.

“Oh, alright.” Qin Xue let go without a fuss.

Su Yun held the other bowl and sat beside her. As if remembering something, a blush spread across her white cheeks, and she immediately buried her head and started drinking rapidly.

“Don’t drink so fast. You’ll choke.”

“I won’t.”

“Ah—cough, cough…”

“Are you stupid?”

……

“...” Once everything was over, Su Yun sat stiffly on the sofa like she was sitting on pins and needles.

She was waiting for Qin Xue’s judgment.

“If you’d bitten someone today, I wouldn’t have let you off the hook.” Qin Xue crossed her arms, standing in front of the sofa, scolding Su Yun with a serious tone.

“I’m sorry…”

“If you hold it in again next time without telling me, I won’t help you. Got it?”

“Mm-mm, I understand.” Su Yun looked like a child who’d done something wrong, hanging her head and staring at the floor.

“Sigh… alright, I’ve said what needed to be said.”

“Class is starting soon, so I’m heading off. You stay here and practice this afternoon.”

Seeing Su Yun looking like she was about to cry, Qin Xue decided not to continue.

“Thank you, Sister Xue. I’ll train hard!”

“Mm.” Qin Xue nodded.

After a while, she went to her room and brought her sister out.

When Qin Yuanyuan passed by the main hall, she didn’t even dare to look at Su Yun—she just hid behind her big sister.

Su Yun was helpless. She had planned to come over at noon, but the landlady demanded her ID, and the nervous tension had made her condition worse, wasting more time.

Then she recalled how she’d been sitting on Sister Xue’s lap, being spoon-fed blood…

That had felt like something a mother would do. Back then, all Su Yun felt was warmth, love, and a soft embrace.

It was like she had returned to her childhood, wanting to become a baby again and drink while nestled in that chest… uh…

“...” Su Yun suddenly seemed to realize something, falling silent for a long while.

……

Once she’d calmed down, Su Yun straightened her messy white dress.

Compared to the almost-victim Qin Xuanyuan, it was the others who were more afraid of her—when they saw her getting up, they all backed off.

“I’m sorry.” Su Yun bowed to the head maid who usually trained her.

“It’s fine. As long as your body’s better now. You still have a lot to learn, so we need to get started immediately.”

Qin Xuanyuan’s expression was calm. With her hair tied back in a ponytail, she’d returned to her usual strict demeanor.

“Ah… okay.” Su Yun’s face was full of bitterness.

The other maids slowly walked over after seeing things had settled.

Qin Xuanyuan watched Su Yun’s back from behind. The tightness in her heart that had been there for so long finally relaxed a little.

She had stood beside the young miss all through lunch and had seen the smile on her face as she fed that girl.

It had been a long time since she’d seen the young miss look that happy.
