Chapter 17

Su Yun first called the counselor.

“Teacher... cough cough, I want to move out.” Since she hadn’t hidden her voice in a while, her first “teacher” still came out in a girl’s voice.

Fortunately, she reacted quickly and immediately switched to that deep tone.

After a round of phone inquiries, she realized that it was actually kind of troublesome for freshmen to move out of the dorms. All kinds of proof were needed, and usually, only third-years were allowed to live off-campus.

But it wasn’t that strict either. Basically, as long as your parents agreed and you said the right things, it could be done.

Worst case scenario, pretend to be depressed—say you can’t study in the dorm, that you feel stifled and want to jump off a building or something—and they’d let you out immediately.

Of course, Su Yun didn’t plan to act like a depressed kid. The next moment, she immediately called her parents.

“Beep... beep...”

It was almost 9 PM, and the sky was completely dark. If not for the city lights everywhere, she probably wouldn’t even be able to see her hand in front of her face.

But her parents’ phones still wouldn’t go through.

Clearly, they were still working overtime.

During the few hours she spent downstairs waiting today, Su Yun had thought it through. From now on, she wouldn't let her parents work so hard anymore. No more overtime.

What’s the point of working overtime to make money? Just to buy a house, a car, and save up for a wedding dowry?

Trading their later years for my stability? Heh...

She didn’t need that.

Even if she changed back into a guy later, Su Yun didn’t want to get married, so there was no need for any of that.

Her parents didn’t need to work so hard for her. From now on, they could just spend the money on themselves.

As for the excuse? She’d just lie and say her salary was a hundred thousand. Heh.

“Su Yun, what’s going on?” After many calls, her father finally answered.

He preferred to call her by name, and his tone was quite warm.

Then she lowered her voice and told him what was going on.

“A hundred thousand a month, Su Yun, what are you talking about, you didn’t get scammed, did you? Where are you right now?”

“No, no.”

Su Yun opened her WeChat interface, feeling a little pleased. That 100,000.00 transfer from Qin Xue still hadn’t expired. She took a screenshot and sent it to her father.

If a “son” says it, how could it not be true? Su Yun’s father quickly believed she really had made a hundred thousand, but then came a flood of worried questions.

“You’re still young, don’t worry about money. We can earn it. Su Yun, don’t touch that money.”

It took a lot of effort for Su Yun to convince her father that her body was fine, she wasn’t hurting herself, and she wasn’t doing anything bad—just simply making money from computer work.

“You don’t need to give me any more living expenses. I’ve got money now.”

“And you guys should work less overtime too, it’s bad for your health.”

Su Yun said everything she wanted to say, but there wasn’t much of a response from the other side of the phone.

In the end, he only gave a few simple replies. Whether he really listened or not—who knows.

As for the apartment, he had agreed earlier too. Tomorrow, Su Yun will be able to move out.

“Beep...” After talking for a long time, Su Yun finally hung up.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, she looked at the boxes behind her and the mess of the room.

“Time to clean up.”

Since she didn’t have a broom or mop, Su Yun took the elevator downstairs and bought some from the convenience store.

Then began the constant running between the kitchen and the bedroom.

She lifted the entire bed with one hand like it was nothing, sweeping out the trash bottles underneath with the other.

And cigarettes...

“So dirty.” Su Yun looked at it with visible disgust.

After sweeping, she mopped the floor. The bedroom floor was finally decent.

There was still the living room, kitchen, and bathroom (which had the toilet and shower together).

After that, she had to wipe down the bed, the windows, the wardrobe...

In this almost 50-square-meter, over three-meter-high apartment, it definitely wasn’t going to be quick to get everything done at once.

It was already past 9 PM, and the dorm curfew was at 11:30. Two hours wouldn’t be nearly enough.

Not being able to finish all at once would be absolute torture for someone with OCD.

Fortunately, Su Yun wasn’t an ordinary person. What would’ve taken four or five hours for anyone else, she finished in ten minutes.

After all, she had cleaned that giant hall of several hundred square meters in just a few minutes before. If she didn’t have to wipe everything down here, she might’ve finished in a couple of minutes.

“Mhm.” Looking at the gleaming floor, Su Yun felt a strong sense of accomplishment.

This would be her new home from now on.

Living alone—for the first time.

Su Yun enjoyed the quiet environment and felt completely at ease.

Living alone meant she could do anything she wanted.

Before, whether at the dorm or at home, she never dared to play videos or music out loud. The desks were small too, making it hard to study.

Now, all those problems are gone.

This bed was huge too—more than twice the size of the one in the dorm. She could roll around on it however she liked.

And Su Yun did just that, rolling around a few times.

Afterward, she started slowly opening the boxes on the bed, hanging all the cute little dresses neatly in the wardrobe.

...

She played around by herself for almost two hours. When she noticed it was already eleven o’clock, she packed up her backpack and fixed her outfit, preparing to return to the dorm.

After living in the dorm for half a year, today was the last day. Strangely, she felt a little reluctant.

Well, not really. She had wanted to move out a long time ago. But it was mostly psychological—not used to sharing space with so many people. And besides, rent was expensive.

Now that she had become a girl, she finally had a reason to move out.

Walking on the road, Su Yun felt a lot lighter, even humming a tune to herself.

At 11:20, Su Yun returned to the dorm right on time.

Since the dormmates were used to her coming back late, no one asked where she’d been this time—just greeted her out of habit.

Su Yun planned to pack everything properly tonight so she could move out smoothly tomorrow.

“Bro, where did you go today?” Unlike the others, Zhang Deyi quickly came over to ask.

“Just stayed on campus. What’s up?”

“No way, I went to the sports field and didn’t see you. Even the library. You didn’t come back to the dorm either—where else could you have gone?”

“Uh...” Su Yun looked at him with a weird expression.

Damn, is this guy a creep? Why was he looking all over for me?

Su Yun felt a chill down her spine.

“Oh, were you working?” Zhang Deyi seemed to remember something and had an ‘aha’ expression.

“Yeah, yeah, working. Today was a bit busy.” Su Yun instantly played along.

She had almost forgotten that she didn’t work today. She had just been playing the whole time.

“Ohh, I see. Then, bro, what’s your girlfriend like? Can I see a picture?”

“?” Su Yun blinked.

“I don’t have a girlfriend.”

After that, Zhang Deyi didn’t push the topic.

Su Yun happened to have some free time to finish packing a few bags.

During the process, her roommates kept asking what was going on, so Su Yun told them she was moving out tomorrow.

They all looked a bit surprised, but Su Yun knew—they were probably happy deep down.

Now that there’d only be five people in the dorm, they’d have more space.

Because she couldn’t use speed, Su Yun had to pack slowly, and only finished after midnight.

There was no early class tomorrow. Three of the dormmates were still gaming, the gunfire from their shooters echoing across the whole room.

Helpless, Su Yun pulled out her phone to read a novel.

(Transfer...)

While reading, a notification suddenly popped up on her screen.

Su Yun tapped on it—it was a 1,000 yuan transfer from Qin Xue.

But it was just a transfer. She didn’t say anything.

Su Yun had asked something in the afternoon, but Qin Xue hadn’t replied.

Since she hadn’t worked today, Su Yun actually didn’t want to take the money. But thinking Qin Xue was probably in a bad mood, she just accepted it.

(Me: I’ll do a good job tomorrow!)

(Qin Xue: Mm, okay)

Su Yun could only bring up work stuff. At least Qin Xue finally replied.

But then she went quiet again.

At some point, Zhang Deyi had crept up behind Su Yun.

He saw the name in the chat.

Qin Xue.

“Tomorrow I’ll do a good job”? Do...

No way, they were already at that stage? Damn, bro’s got game.

Zhang Deyi raised his brows in shock.

And judging by that transfer, the other party was probably a sugar mommy.

That name sounded so elegant—she was probably gorgeous too.

Su Yun had landed himself a rich beauty.

Zhang Deyi was stunned and a bit jealous, but knowing how hard dating was, he mostly felt admiration for Su Yun.

Then, at the same time, the name Qin Xue felt really familiar.

Wait—wasn’t that the campus queen’s name?

To confirm, Zhang Deyi sneaked back to his seat.

He opened his phone.

(Goddess Leaderboard)

Number one—Qin Xue.

It really was the same name.

Zhang Deyi stared at the screen in surprise, but he figured it couldn’t be. Probably just a coincidence.

The next second, he opened the freshman leaderboard.

He hadn’t paid attention to it before, but now things were different.

Because—

(1st place: Chen Tingting – 7,502 votes)

(2nd place: ??? – 2,065 votes)

The second place didn’t have a name, but the vote count was huge—clearly someone else posted it, not the person herself.

The second place was none other than the white moonlight in Zhang Deyi’s heart.

The moment he saw it, he voted immediately.

Maybe it was because she was so beautiful, and her unique white hair too—but just in the past half day, she had gotten over 2,000 votes.

Right now, Zhang Deyi just wanted to see Chen Tingting get completely crushed.

That smug look of hers—ha! All just pulling favors for votes?

In front of true beauty, all those tricks were meaningless.

Zhang Deyi didn’t think about Su Yun anymore. All he could think about now was the delicious look of utter defeat on Chen Tingting’s face.
