Monster Taming Broadcast - Chapter 50

Chapter 50. Two Monsters

Between Shin Somang and the goblin, the Hedgehog Summoner emerged from a dimensional rift.

The hedgehog landed lightly on the ground and looked up at the goblin before asking.

“Are you Kang Geon’s assistant, ‘Mysti’?”

The goblin didn’t reply, instead swinging its arm to attack the hedgehog.

[Kirrik!]

[Doomba?]

The hedgehog smoothly dodged the attack as if flowing with water and then wore a bewildered expression.

[Why are you attacking me? You’re not Mysti?]

[Kiririk!!!]

[If not, then answer that you’re not!]

The goblin’s attacks continued, once, twice, three times… nonstop.

Yet, the hedgehog dodged them all effortlessly, almost dancing.

Mysti finally rose from her seat and, in a trembling voice, shouted.

“I… I am…!”

[Doomba?]

“I’m Mysti…”

[Do-doomba?! So, you’re Mysti!]

The hedgehog came to a sudden stop and rammed into the goblin’s stomach, sending it flying to the ground.

*Thud!*

The goblin hit the floor hard from the impact.

[You should have said something sooner!]

The hedgehog quickly waddled over to Shin Somang.

It glanced back and forth between her and the goblin lying on the ground.

[You two look alike!]

“A-aren’t you wrong?!”

[Just kidding. That thing is ugly. You’re pretty.]

“I know I’m pretty.”

[Ugh, how cocky.]

“Sorry… but why are you even here?”

[Didn’t you ask for help? So I came!]

“Oh.”

Shin Somang remembered the message she had sent.

*What do I do. Monster.*

Just from reading that single sentence…

It seemed Kang Geon had realized what was going on.

He must have made a quick decision and sent help without any hesitation.

‘…Even though he couldn’t have been sure.’

The situation might not have been dangerous. It could have been just a joke.

Still, he had immediately dispatched help, using that expensive Designated Dispatch Tickets too…

Shin Somang felt strangely touched by Kang Geon’s actions.

[Anyway, that ugly thing was bothering you, right? Now that I’m here, don’t worry! I’ll deal with it immediately!]

“Uh… But, shouldn’t you confirm that I’m really Mysti?”

[What’s there to confirm? You said you were Mysti yourself.]

“And you believe me without any doubts? What if I was lying?”

[Were you lying?]

“I wasn’t lying, but…”

The hedgehog covered its mouth with its hand and chuckled as it looked at Shin Somang.

[Hehe. I knew from the start that you were Mysti.]

“Huh? How?”

[I just had a feeling! Assistants are connected with explorers, you know! Like friends!]

“Then why did you pretend not to know at first?”

[It was just a joke. Do-doomba!]

“……”

‘At least it’s not dumb,’ Shin Somang thought as the goblin, with an angry expression, slowly rose to its feet.

The spot where the hedgehog had rammed it showed no signs of injury.

It made sense that the goblin was unscathed. Currently, the Hedgehog Summoner’s danger level was classified as S-rank.

Though it was called a powerful force, like a *Demon King*, it was only due to the strength of the summoned creature. The summoner’s own body was incredibly weak.

Other than having maxed-out evasion skills, the hedgehog itself was far from impressive.

[Kiririk!!!]

The goblin, having regained its balance, roared and charged forward once more.

At that moment, the hedgehog started shaking its hips and began dancing.

[Doomba! Do-doomba!]

Had it been anyone else, they might have reacted like this:

*Why is it dancing in this situation? Has it gone mad?*

But Shin Somang remained silent, simply watching the scene unfold.

She knew the hedgehog’s abilities.

At first, the goblin didn’t pay it any mind and kept running toward it, but…

[Ki… Kirrik…]

As it stepped on the enormous shadow cast on the ground, a chilling energy overwhelmed it, causing it to freeze in place.

The goblin slowly lifted its head and looked up at the sky.

In front and behind it, two enormous undead spirits glared down, their eyes glowing ominously.

[Kiririk…]

The goblin’s legs began trembling uncontrollably.

Filled with terror, it frantically searched for an escape route.

But it was already too late.

There was no escape.

[Ki… Kiririk?]

The goblin’s feet lifted off the ground as its body began to float into the air.

And then, in an instant, it was sucked into the mouth of one of the undead spirits.

Compared to the spirits, the goblin was no more significant than an insect.

[Do-doomba! Problem solved!]

The Hedgehog Summoner crossed its arms and smiled triumphantly.

[That thing was acting all tough for no reason!]

“Hedgehog!”

Shin Somang called out to the hedgehog, her face filled with fear.

[Hehe! Wasn’t I awesome?]

“You were… awesome, but… Please, quickly send those summons back to their original world!”

[Doomba?]

“If those things appear here, people will get scared, the military will be dispatched, and it’ll turn into a massive incident!”

Shin Somang glanced anxiously back and forth between the two spirits.

They were far larger than they had seemed on the broadcast.

The spirits were enormous, dwarfing even the biggest mountains.

The hedgehog scratched its head, realizing it had caused a problem for Mysti.

[Alright, alright. I’ll send them back.]

As soon as those words were spoken, the two massive spirits disappeared into a mist.

When I saw Mysti’s urgent message, I considered several possibilities.

She could have been caught by a mugger.

Or perhaps she was being dragged away by kidnappers.

In any case, it seemed like she was in danger.

Given that she mentioned a monster, there was even a possibility that…

She might have encountered a monster.

There are no monsters on Earth, but you never know.

Not long ago, a video surfaced on YouTube showing something that looked like a slime.

I wanted to ask Mysti for more details, but after typing the word *monster*, she didn’t say anything else.

Her silence only made me more anxious.

So, without hesitation, I used a Designated Dispatch Tickets and sent the Hedgehog Summoner to Earth.

Of course, this decision might have been over the top.

Maybe it was just a trivial message.

Maybe Mysti was simply joking.

But without any further updates from her, I couldn’t be sure she wasn’t in danger, so I played it safe and sent help.

If it wasn’t a dangerous situation, that would be great.

If it was a joke, we could laugh about it later.

The important thing was Mysti’s safety.

A little overreaction was a price I was willing to pay.

As long as Mysti was safe, that was enough.

【Rizenova】─I’m relieved since Hedgehog was dispatched. Our master is strong, after all.

【Yumi】─But I didn’t expect you to send help immediately, especially since I didn’t really ask for it.

【Pururu】─Surprising, really. Kang Geon, you don’t even know who Mysti is. Why are you so worried?

“How could I not worry? She’s my assistant.”

I didn’t know Mysti’s face or name.

But Mysti was my assistant.

Assistants have always helped me.

How could I not worry about someone who might be in danger, someone who had been a benefactor to me?

【Pururu】─Would you send help right away if we asked too?

“If I have a Designated Dispatch Ticket, of course.”

【Pururu】─Haha, how reassuring. Then can you send our little one later on?

【Yumi】─Pururu, don’t joke about asking for help.

【Pururu】─I’m not a kid. I wouldn’t joke about something like that.

【Pururu】─But even if it’s not dangerous, can’t you send help sometime? I want to meet a monster in person.

【Yumi】─I’d like to see one too, but Designated Dispatch Tickets are too expensive, so that’s probably difficult.

【Pururu】─True. Those tickets are crazy expensive.

“Don’t worry about the cost. Rizenova sends me a lot of coins regularly. If I accumulate enough Dispatch Tickets, I’ll send them once in a while.”

【Pururu】─Really? Thanks, man.

【Yumi】─Whoa, me too? Awesome!

【Pururu】─Awesome, haha.

As I was chatting with my assistants, waiting for Mysti to respond.

【Pururu】─?

【Pururu】─Oh my god.

【Pururu】─Geon! That hedgehog made a mess!!!

“Huh? What happened?”

【Pururu】─Wait a sec.

Pururu then sent a series of messages.

【Pururu】─[Photo]

【Pururu】─[Photo]

【Pururu】─This thing’s done it now!

I clicked on the photos one by one with my finger.
