Chapter 3: Biting Each Other

“Clack!”

As the tremors intensified, a bottle of wine fell off the counter, nearly smashing onto Erika’s head.

She quickly tiptoed around the shattered glass and tried flapping the wings on her back—but right now, she was like a fledgling. She couldn’t fly at all…

Finally escaping the counter, Erika looked ahead and felt a surge of despair.

The two at the doorway were still fiercely battling. The violent elemental clash had completely blocked the exit—there was no path out.

What now?

Biting her lip, Erika couldn’t hold it in anymore. Where was her cheat?

Weren’t transmigrators supposed to have cheats?

Her anxiety was indescribable. It was like shouting at a teammate in an internet café, “Bro, drop me the sniper rifle already!”

“Boom!”

The clash ahead grew more intense. The underground trading room was on the verge of collapse—cracks spread across the walls and floor.

Jocelyn noticed everything calmly, including the helpless little girl behind her.

The corner of her lips lifted. Jocelyn suddenly flicked her hand, unleashing an even stronger storm toward Gladys.

At the same time, she stomped the ground and her slender figure vanished in a blur.

The next moment, she reappeared before Erika like she had teleported.

Taking advantage of the storm assaulting Gladys, she reached out and firmly grabbed Erika’s wrists.

“Let go of me!”

Erika struggled, but the strength in that grip gave her no room to resist.

The other woman leaned her red lips close to Erika’s ear.

Erika could now clearly feel Jocelyn’s breath. Her black hair brushed against Erika’s shoulder, making her feel ticklish.

“Welcome to this world, Erika Blaniel.”

“You… know me?”

Erika frowned deeply, surprise rising in her heart.

Logically, she had just hatched—how did this woman know her name? It made no sense!

But then again, nothing about transmigrating to a strange world made any scientific sense to begin with…

“I indirectly created you.”

Jocelyn’s voice was magnetic. Her lips curled into a wicked, slightly eerie smile.

“Now, it’s time for you to repay me.”

“Repay…?”

What the hell was this crazy woman mumbling about?

In an instant, Jocelyn lowered her head and bit into Erika’s soft shoulder.

“Aah!”

A startled cry burst out of Erika’s lips as pain surged from her shoulder.

Then came a pulling sensation—she could clearly feel her strength being drained from her body, as if the other woman was absorbing her energy.

That backstabber!

Shocked and angry, Erika widened her eyes. Screw it—if her hands couldn’t move and the woman was biting her, then she would bite back!

She opened her mouth, narrowed her eyes, and bit down hard on Jocelyn’s shoulder with her little fangs.

Her jaw clenched tightly. The moment her teeth touched the woman’s skin, she felt a tremble—and blood flowed into her mouth.

The taste was bloody.

And oddly enough, Erika didn’t dislike it. On the contrary, it stirred her excitement.

Her crimson pupils began to emit a faint glow. Since Jocelyn was still biting her, Erika refused to let go either.

You suck, I suck too!

Nearly a full minute passed.

“Boom!”

With a loud explosion, Gladys at the door shattered the storm. Her deep blue eyes locked onto what Jocelyn was doing. Her brows furrowed and her cold face showed a flash of fury.

“Aah~”

At that moment, Jocelyn let out a moan, releasing Erika and lifting her bloodstained lips from the girl’s shoulder. Saliva and blood mingled into thin strands at the corner of her mouth. Her voice turned tender, and her cheeks flushed in a look of ecstasy.

Pervert! This woman’s a complete pervert!

Fuming, Erika finally let go too. She was so drained that she slumped to the ground.

She couldn’t speak. Her legs gave out, her butt landed firmly on the floor, and her once-uplifted tail drooped.

“Jocelyn, what did you do!”

Gladys’s furious voice rang out. Her icy eyes radiated killing intent. With a flap of her wings, she lunged at Jocelyn.

“Whoosh!”

Tapping the floor lightly, Jocelyn moved far more gracefully than Gladys’s furious charge.

She easily dodged the attack and flashed to the doorway of the trading room.

Wiping the blood from her lips with the back of her hand, a smug grin bloomed across her face.

Then, she spat out a jewel-like emerald rhombus crystal.

“Sorry, General Gladys. I still managed to get this Dragon Core Crystal.”

She tucked the crystal into her chest, her face beaming with pride. She didn’t care at all about the bite mark on her shoulder, and turned to leave.

Before going, she even waved at Erika.

“Erika, thank you for the repayment.”

The trading room was now a mess. Broken glass and wood chips were scattered everywhere—a scene of utter destruction.

Only Erika and the woman named Gladys remained.

Silence.

They stared at each other—big eyes to little eyes—neither speaking.

Erika blinked. The tattered cloth wrapped around her had slipped off, revealing her soft, flawless skin. Her petite body glowed with a tender pink hue.

Her face looked innocent, pitiful even.

She wanted to speak, but she was too weak and couldn’t be bothered. She mentally gave up. Kill her, torture her, whatever—she didn’t care anymore.

This cursed transmigration had already turned her into a monster, and to top it off, didn’t even give her a cheat. What a scam.

A long silence followed.

Finally, Gladys moved. She gently picked Erika up and held her in her arms. The anger on her face was gone, replaced by a hint of sorrow on her stunning face.

Being embraced, Erika could clearly feel her shoulder pressed against two soft, bouncy orbs.

Well, since they were both women now, Erika didn’t think it was a big deal.

A strange warmth washed over her, and Erika felt her whole body relax.

But in the next second, her relaxed face suddenly tensed.

Gladys, copying Jocelyn’s earlier move, buried her head into Erika’s ear.

Again!?

Panic surged through Erika.

This time, Gladys didn’t restrain her hands.

Without thinking, Erika—remembering the thieves' frozen fate—began flailing her arms and struggling desperately.

“Rip!”

Blood spurted. In the confusion, Erika realized that the dagger she’d been clutching accidentally slashed Gladys’s shoulder.

The woman’s body visibly trembled from the wound.

I swear… I didn’t mean to…

Erika panicked internally. She could no longer utter a word.
